Cooking steamed whole fish might be easier than you think. This Chinese style steamed whole fish is tasty since it requires a alive fish rather than a frozen fish. The spicy taste of the steamed fish is combined with garlic and ginger. Soy sauce is a final touch of this classic Chinese style steam fish. But do you know how long to steam the fish?

Ingredients:
1 Tilapia (500-600g) Purchase alive fish, never use frozen ones,
Chili paste with soy beans 3 tablespoons
Ginger 6 slices
Cilantro 1/4 cup
Green onions 2
Chopped garlic 1/4 cup
Vegetable oil 1/4 cup
Soy sauce for steamed fish (3 tablespoons)

Directions:
1. Clean the fish.
2. Score the fish. Spread the chili paste on the fish, both sides. put the ginger in the cut of the fish.
3. Boil water in a large pan. Then steam the fish for about 9 minutes. Adjust time according the size the fish. To test if it is fully cooked, Use a fork pull the meat from the neck. If the meat can be easily separated from the bones, then fish the cooked.
4. Remove the excess liquid from the plate. Add cilantro, green onions, and chopped garlic.
5. Heat up the vegetable oil until smoke. Quickly pour the oil on the fish.
6. Add soy sauce.
